Clearlight Infrared Sauna Helps Madison Firefighters Sweat Out Cancer-Causing Carcinogens

The Madison Fire Department installed a Clearlight® infrared sauna at its Station 14, giving firefighters a way to sweat out dangerous carcinogens tied to a nine percent higher cancer risk and 14 percent higher cancer death risk in the profession. Fire Chief Steve Davis and firefighter Kevin Hembrook credit the sauna with supporting both physical recovery and mental health, with the department already planning to add a second unit at another station.
