Dr. Duncan is a Board-Certified Doctor of Chiropractic and started Clearlight more than 25 years ago. Today, Clearlight is the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions. The Berkeley-based wellness-based company designs, manufactures, and distributes infrared saunas and other complementary healing devices worldwide. Dr. Duncan has held the position of CEO for over 25 years. Prior to founding the company, Dr. Duncan spent 25 years implementing computer-controlled machinery for many manufacturing facilities in the US. Dr. Duncan is widely considered one of the early pioneers in infrared sauna technologies and holds numerous patents related to technologies for healing the human body.

Dr. Duncan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College and his doctorate from Life West Chiropractic College. He splits his time between Berkeley, Chelsea and Mendocino, CA.

Dickie Walsh

Chief Operating Officer, Clearlight®

For six years, Dickie Walsh has served as the Chief Operating Officer for Clearlight, the
industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions. Dickie has more than 30 years’ experience in managerial roles—primarily managing reseller relationships and dealer networks. Dickie cut his teeth at Autodesk, the world’s largest Computer Aided Design (CAD) software company, where he learned CAD design.

Dickie is an avid golfer who holds two US patents in the golf world. He is an alumnus of Washington State University, plays the bass, guitar and the ukulele; and lives with his wife Marci in Liberty Lake Washington.

Andy Kaps

Co-Founder and President, Clearlight®

Andy Kaps Co-Founded Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, after partnering with Dr. Raleigh Duncan more than 20 years ago, and he has served as the company President since 2003. His lifelong interest in health and wellness drew him to Clearlight as he saw the potential benefits infrared saunas and related wellness solutions offered people. Andy co-developed most of the designs and technologies used in Clearlight products including Halotherapy, the groundbreaking Variable Optics™ Technology (used in the full suite of the company’s Red Light Therapy Towers), Low EMF Technology, Combination Carbon/Ceramic Heaters, and Sanctuary Sauna Design.

Andy has 30-plus years’ experience building, managing and scaling businesses, including sales management, web design, SEO, marketing, system processes, IT and Internet knowledge, and brand-building. Prior to Clearlight, Andy was a principal in several Bay Area E-Commerce, Internet, and Telecommunications companies.

Andy is a drummer and spent his youth playing in bands, touring and recording. Andy holds a B.A. degree from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA and lives in Sausalito, CA.

Alison Robinson

Director of Sales, Clearlight®

Originally from the UK, she has lived in the US for more than 18 years. Since joining Clearlight in June 2017, Alison has firmly established herself as a key asset in her role as the Director of Sales for Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions.

While in the UK, Alison’s career was in the British Civil Service where she worked for Her Majesty’s (HM) Prison Service. Attention to detail, working with high-level personnel, managing under extreme circumstances, communicating and collaborating with the many different Government agencies for the rehabilitation and the smooth running of prison sentence/release programs were essential aspects of her everyday life.

An avid animal lover, Alison previously co-ran Animal Agents Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue in the San Francisco Bay Area. Alison currently lives in Concord, CA where she and her husband co-run Mr. Robinson’s Bangers (a small business specializing in authentic artisanal British sausages). They have an 11 year old foster-failure dog Milo, who is the ruler of the house.

Sheila Collins

Commercial Sales Manager, Clearlight®

Sheila started with Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, as a sales specialist in May 2019. She is currently the Commercial Sales Manager and loves supporting her team and her commercial customers.

Sheila brings a diverse perspective to Clearlight, having lived in five states (California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan—where she grew up) and in the careers she has chosen.

Her past positions include retail management, systems administrator, and business analyst for several large corporations. After success in these fields, Sheila felt a calling to follow her passion: bodywork, enjoying a 20 year career as a self employed massage therapist working at chiropractic offices and at high end resorts/hotels in California’s Napa Valley.

When it was time to move to a new career in the wellness industry, Clearlight stood out as the clear choice, given the company’s superior products and care for customers, employees, and the environment. This is a career move that fits in well with her love for wellness, business, and building relationships.

Sheila earned a BS in Computer Information Systems from Columbus State University. Her graduate work includes Consciousness and Transformative studies at JFK University. She is a vegan, a Certified Massage Therapist (McKinnon Massage Institute) and a Reiki Practitioner. In her free time, Sheila is furthering her fitness goals which include weight lifting and training for a half marathon. She is based in Michigan, which allows her to be close to friends and family.

Danielle Yanke

VP of Marketing, Clearlight®

Joining the Clearlight team in August of 2023, Danielle leads the way for Clearlight’s incredible brand reputation as a leading wellness brand. A dyed in the wool optimist, Danielle enjoys bringing a positive attitude and energy to her team’s operations, so we can all have a little fun along the way. Originally hailing from Chicago and graduating from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Hospitality Administration and minor in Spanish, Danielle made her way to Las Vegas and kicked off her career at MGM Grand, then skipped across The Strip to The Mirage, where she supported Las Vegas’ first mega-resort’s online presence. During this time, she oversaw social media strategy and all aspects of digital marketing for a Fortune 500 company.

Simultaneously serving on the board of the Las Vegas Innovation Marketing Association for nine years, she upheld the continual education (and reputation for amazing networking events) for the city’s marketing community. Discovering a great fit within agency life, Danielle served in client services as a Senior Account Director out of REQ’s Las Vegas office for eight years. She oversaw the marketing strategy for over 30+ brands; spanning from her original wheelhouse of hospitality, tourism, and nightlife, and expanded into ecommerce, tech, and publishing clients.

Outside of the office, Danielle spends time adoring her daughter Freya, while she and her husband Brandon try to find time to be amateur astronomers, play Dungeons & Dragons, constantly do dishes because of all the cooking & baking they do, and play with their dog, Oliver.

Melissa Van Riper

Consumer Product Manager, Clearlight®

Bringing 15+ years of passion and experience steering product teams and large capital projects to strengthen company posture in competitive markets, Melissa joined Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, in 2023.

As the Consumer Product Manager, Melissa researches, develops, improves and tests the company’s comprehensive line of entry-level wellness solutions to empower people to experience the power of aroma, salt, PEMF, infrared, and red light therapy. In her role, she collaborates with designers, engineers, sales, marketing and executive teams to take the product from concept to market.

Chronically ill for most of her life, Melissa has a deep-rooted passion for alternative wellness paths and innovative solutions that help people make their health a priority. Her work within Clearlight is a manifested dream come true.

Melissa is based in New Jersey where she enjoys crafting, BBQ, art installations, and pottery. She and her daughter, Charlotte, are always working on a variety of art projects.

Carly Layne

Marketing Manager, Clearlight®

Carly, who was promoted to Marketing Manager in 2023, joined Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, in 2022 and brings with her more than 10 years of marketing experience. Working closely with the VP of Marketing, Creative Director and PR lead, Carly champions the Clearlight brand in her role managing social media, influencer & affiliate partnerships, design work, email marketing and copywriting. Prior to transitioning to the world of marketing, Carly pursued a career in writing—growing up in an artistic family as both her parents were creatives, and her brother has been a director and comedy writer for “SNL,” “Jimmy Fallon,” and “Funny or Die”. Carly studied communications and performing arts, but says her most impactful training was while she was interning at recording studios, photography studios, and at smaller local publications including working in-house as a videographer/photographer for Firebrand Media.

Through these endeavors, she discovered her passion for blending creativity with strategy, and embarked on a new career marketing for small independent companies, fostering a deep understanding of grassroots marketing strategies and the importance of personalized approaches. From here, she transitioned to working with big agencies, where exposure to larger campaigns and corporate clients allowed her to hone her skills in scalability and strategic thinking. She then ventured into freelance marketing, establishing an independent consultancy, offering services to a diverse clientele spanning various industries including: food & beverage, hospitality, ministries, authors, fitness, and the entertainment segment including musicians and entertainers.

Carly, who originally hails from Southern California, traded in the beach for the Grand Ole Opry and moved to Nashville in 2019, where she currently resides. Today, she continues to promote the company’s priority initiatives while at the same time pursuing a career as an Americana singer-songwriter. Engaged to Nashville producer and guitarist Andrew Shaver, Carly finds solace in storytelling through both music and visual mediums. She will release her first EP in 2024. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, hiking, surfing/paddle boarding, photography, and going to all of the concerts humanly possible.

Luc Schwab

Creative Director, Clearlight®

As the Creative Director at Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, Luc leads a growing team of creative staff, contractors, agencies, and partners to create engaging and consistent branding across customer experiences. He is responsible for integrating design across Clearlight’s service, sales and marketing content, as well as serving as a strategic leader in product development, advertising, and the overall “look and feel” for the brand.

Thrilled to be trailblazing in the health and wellness industry, Luc started his career at Clearlight in 2014, working as a contractor on design projects, including animation, branding, and product design.

In 2020, he became the Senior Art Director, responsible for production of all static and animated marketing and sales materials for use across all media platforms, designing health and wellness products including creation of 3D models for use in production and manufacturing, and providing art direction for photo and video shoots, including staging and talent direction.

Prior to Clearlight, Luc served as the R&D designer at the One World Play Project, designing ultra-durable toys for use in the harshest environments, including the One World Futbol—an unpoppable soccer ball that delivered play to over 60 million youth in 185 countries. He is also the Owner and Director of LucMotion, working as a freelance motion graphic and product designer for a wide variety of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to tech start-ups and independent filmmakers.

Luc is a lifelong artist. He studied cello at The Crowden school from an early age, attended Idyllwild Arts Academy, and holds a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Kaveh Djahan

General Manager, Clearlight®

For the past five years, Kaveh has served as the Service and Operations and later General Manager of Operations for Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions. In his role at Clearlight, Kaveh focuses primarily on Logistics, Warehouse & Inventory Management, Service, and General day-to-day operations. Kaveh has nearly 30 years of experience in managerial roles in various industries including technology, manufacturing, eCommerce and sciences with companies such as Stacks and Stacks, Winterlink, CBX Technology and TBS Couriers.

Kaveh studied Marketing at San Francisco State University, and is married to his wife Trish Hinze, a PGA golf professional/Instructor. Kaveh, who resides in El Cerrito, CA, was a soccer coach for over eight years, coaching both of his daughters.

Matthew Gasbarra

Service Manager, Clearlight®

In 2021, Matt joined Clearlight, the industry leader in infrared sauna and pioneer in innovative health and wellness solutions, as the Service Manager. In his current role, Matt supervises 15+ people and runs the day-to-day operations in the service department. Working face-to-face with customers, Matt oversees Customer Service, Technical Support, Commercial Service Support, and Repair Visits.

Matt brings with him more than 15 years of management experience to the company. Moving from his native state of New York to California, Matt joined Clearlight because the company presented an opportunity Matt shares has been his best work experience to date; employee-centric and focused on continuously delivering the best health options for people. Prior to joining Clearlight, Matt worked with Nationwide Credit, leading a team of 30 plus employees. Matt currently resides in Oakland with his wife and enjoys anything outside including biking and hiking.
